From a Box of Parts to an AI Companion That Can Talk, Walk, and Dance
What happens when you give children a box full of robot parts?
Will they simply assemble a toy?
Or will they build an AI companion with its own personality?
At MGA AI Humanoid Robot Camp, students didn’t receive a finished robot. Instead, they started with hundreds of individual parts and gradually transformed them into fully functional AI humanoid robots through engineering, programming, and artificial intelligence.
Building a Robot—One Screw at a Time
Every great invention begins with a strong foundation.
Students carefully assembled the robot frame by installing servo motors, connecting wires, and attaching structural components one piece at a time. Along the way, they discovered how each part contributes to the robot’s movement.

As they built, students explored questions such as:
- Why can a robot raise its arms?
- How does it walk, turn, and balance?
- What role does each servo motor play?
Watching their robots stand up and move for the very first time was an unforgettable moment—and a rewarding experience that no off-the-shelf toy could ever provide.

From Mechanical Engineering to Artificial Intelligence
Once the hardware was complete, the real adventure began.
Students connected their robots to computers, uploaded programs, and gradually unlocked movement functions such as walking and turning. They also learned how the robot’s hardware and software work together as one complete system.

Next, they explored two operating modes:
Remote Control Mode allowed students to directly control their robots’ movements, including walking, turning, and waving.
AI Conversation Mode enabled the robots to recognize speech, understand commands, and engage in natural conversations.
Their robots were no longer just moving—they were interacting.

Every Robot Has Its Own Personality
Artificial intelligence is what truly brought each robot to life.
Students customized their robots by choosing:
🎤 A unique voice
😊 A distinct personality
💬 Different conversation styles

Each robot became a reflection of its creator. Some were humorous, some were gentle and thoughtful, while others were energetic and playful.
Through this process, students discovered that AI is much more than answering questions—it can create meaningful, personalized interactions.

Creativity Brings Robots to Life
With the core functions complete, students began exploring creative possibilities.
Using remote controllers, they programmed their robots to perform different movements, selected their favorite music, and even taught their robots to dance.

As music filled the classroom and robots danced alongside their creators, engineering transformed into creativity, and each robot became more than a project—it became an AI companion built entirely by the students.

Every Success Begins with Persistence
Building a humanoid robot is no easy task.
Sometimes a single misplaced screw meant taking the robot apart and rebuilding it. A loose wire required careful troubleshooting, and programs often needed multiple rounds of testing before everything worked correctly.
Through every challenge, students experienced the authentic engineering design process: testing, improving, and trying again.
More importantly, they developed patience, attention to detail, resilience, and confidence.

AI Is More Than a Chatbot
When people hear the term “AI,” many immediately think of ChatGPT or virtual assistants.
This week, however, our students experienced AI from a completely different perspective.
They discovered that AI isn’t limited to a chat window on a screen. Combined with mechanical engineering, servo motors, programming, and networking, AI gives robots the ability to understand commands, recognize voices, move intelligently, and communicate naturally.
This is the vision of AI education at MGA.

We want students not only to use AI, but also to understand AI, create with AI, and apply AI to solve real-world problems.
Because the future belongs not only to AI users, but to the innovators who build it.
Sharing Their Creations with Confidence
During the camp’s Closing Ceremony, students proudly introduced their AI humanoid robots to their families and fellow campers.
They demonstrated walking, dancing, and voice interaction while explaining the personalities, voices, and unique characteristics they had designed for their robots.
Each presentation reflected not only technical achievement, but also creativity, problem-solving, and confidence.
From assembling a collection of unfamiliar parts to proudly presenting a fully functioning AI robot, students gained much more than an engineering project—they gained confidence in their ability to create.

The Camp May Be Over, but the Journey Has Just Begun
Watching a robot walk, respond to commands, and interact with people is exciting.
But what inspired us even more was seeing our students grow throughout the week.
They demonstrated patience when solving problems, perseverance when facing challenges, and creativity when bringing their ideas to life.
These are the skills that will continue to benefit them long after camp ends.
A heartfelt thank you to all of our amazing campers for their curiosity, dedication, and hard work, and to all of our families for your trust and support.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back to MGA as we continue exploring the exciting worlds of artificial intelligence, robotics, engineering, and innovation together.
