MGA Academy is proud to announce a remarkable showing at the 2026 Math Kangaroo Contest, the world’s largest mathematics competition, which drew more than 60,000 participants across the United States and over 6 million students across 90+ countries this year.
Sixteen MGA students earned national or state recognition — a result that reflects both the depth of talent at MGA and the strength of its problem-solving curriculum.
Highlights of MGA’s 2026 results:
- 25 National Award winners from the MGA Center
- 5 National #1 winners from MGA Center
- 3 MGA students placed #1 nationally — Edward X. (Grade 2), Olivia S. (Grade 3), and Iris T. (Grade 3), each achieving a perfect-tier score of 96.
- 15 MGA students earned National Top 20 placement, spanning Grades 2 through 5.
- 4 MGA students claimed Massachusetts State Top 3 honors, including top placements in their grade levels.
Math Kangaroo is widely regarded as a meaningful early indicator of long-term competition readiness, rewarding the kind of flexible, creative problem-solving that supports later success in AMC 8, AMC 10, and beyond. To rank in the National Top 20 — out of more than 60,000 American competitors — places these students among the strongest young mathematical thinkers in the country.
“What we celebrate is not the medals themselves, but the way our students think,” said MGA’s leadership team. “Math Kangaroo rewards curiosity, persistence, and the willingness to approach problems from unexpected angles. Those are exactly the habits we work to build every week at MGA.”
MGA congratulates every student who took on this year’s challenge, and thanks the families and instructors whose support made these results possible. Registration for the 2026–27 academic year is now open. Families interested in MGA’s Math Kangaroo and competition math programs are invited to contact us to learn more.
